About Rich Harvest Farms - The 2009 Solheim Cup Venue
Plantation at Rich Harvest Farms is a links type course set in the Illinois countryside 46 miles west of Chicago at Sugar Grove. The course was built in 1989 by owner and architect Jerry Rich, and is a par 72 design which can be played from 6,334 to 8,200 yards, and has quickly become one of the top rated golf courses in the USA. By 1999 Rich Harvest was named in the top five new private golf courses and in 2003 had been rated in the top 100 courses in the USA by Golf Digest.
Jerry Rich’s influence can be seen everywhere on the course and the facilities including individually naming every hole on the course. The 2009 Solheim Cup is the first professional championship to be held at Rich Harvest.
The Course - Gold & Silver
Instead of the traditionally numbered 18 holes, Rich Harvest defies the norm and has two 9 hole courses, Gold and Siver, including the signature hole, Silver number 4, the 'Devil's Elbow', described as 'The most demanding tee shot in golf'.
