The 2011 Solheim Cup Event Itinerary
The Solheim Cup is a team match-play competition featuring the best twelve U.S. players verses the best twelve European players in women’s professional golf.
The teams are selected from the LPGA tour in the USA and LET tour in Europe. The USA team is the top ten players on the tour plus two captains picks. The European team is the top five players on the LET, four from the Rolex Women’s World Rankings, and three captain’s picks.
The teams are usually announced around one month ahead of the competition start date but there is no set date for this.
- Tuesday 20th September 2011 - player practice rounds.
- Wednesday 21st September 2011 - player practice rounds.
- Thursday 22nd September 2011- player practice rounds and opening ceremony - transfer provided.
- Friday 23rd September 2011 - am. foursome matches, pm. four-ball matches - transfer provided.
- Saturday 24th September 2011 - am. foursome matches, pm. four-ball matches - transfer provided.
- Sunday 25th September 2011 - singles matches and closing ceremony - transfer provided.
